This website is the work of Dr. Todd Giardina, a psychologist practicing in South Florida. Dr. Giardina has found in his clinical experience treating people suffering from chronic pain that misconceptions and lack of information can often contribute to one's distress. Pain is distressing in and of itself - there is no need to add the further psychological burden of the unknown. This website is intended as a resource where pain sufferers, their families and friends, and even treating physicians can find information and gain insight into the means by which this physical condition can affect people emotionally and psychologically. Dr. Giardina has also attempted to elaborate on the means by which psychological and behavioral treatments and techniques can improve pain patients' quality of life.
